PTE Listening: Highlight Correct Summary
One of the PTE listening tasks is called: Highlight Correct Summary,
and it looks and sounds like this.
Since 1901 medicine has advanced greatly.
We've discovered antibiotics and vaccines to protect us from infections,
antivirals for HIV, statins for heart disease and much more.
But ...
We've made essentially no progress at all in treating alzheimer's disease.
I'm part of a team of scientists who's been working to find
a cure for Alzheimer's for over a decade.
In this task you will hear audio that will go for between 30 and 90 seconds.

Three of the summaries will not relate to the audio and one will.
You need to select the correct summary
Tip 1: Understand the concepts
While listening to the audio note down key concepts using nouns and verbs.
The four summaries will all seem correct
But three of them will have concepts that were not a part of the original audio.
Only one summary will relate directly to the audio
You will only be able to select the correct summary if you understand the concepts that were mentioned
